Radio 4 had a focus on fostering on Saturday 5 August with a programme guest edited by Amy, Jo and Gig, from Messy Fostering. Amy who’s now 23-years-old was fostered at 14 by Gig and ended up spending her summers with her teacher Jo. They wanted to use their guest edit to look at how we can stop foster placements breaking down and recruit and retain more foster families. The programme also features poet and broadcaster Lemn Sissay, the Children’s Minister Claire Coutinho and other young people who have been fostered.
